Ecuador Fuel Prices Drop About Five Cents From July 12

Ecuador's next fuel-price update is expected to bring a small decrease from Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Authorities calculate that diesel and Extra and Ecopaís gasoline will fall by about five cents per gallon.

New Expected Prices

The announced changes move:

• Extra and Ecopaís from $3.31 to $3.26 per gallon
• Diesel from $3.25 to $3.20 per gallon

The change was introduced through Decreto Ejecutivo 444.

What Changed

The price-band system keeps monthly increases capped at 5 percent and decreases capped at 10 percent for Extra, Ecopaís and diesel in the automotive segment.

This month's move uses an exceptional calculation mechanism within that framework.

What This Means For Expats

The drop is small, but it is immediate for drivers, taxis, delivery costs and intercity travel. Anyone filling up before Sunday may miss the updated price.
