Ecuador's weather for Sunday, June 28 is split by region: stronger rain risk in the Amazon, mixed conditions in the Sierra, and mostly clearer skies on the Coast.
El Universo reported INAMHI's forecast of variable-intensity rain, especially in the Amazon region. A meteorological alert remained active through Sunday for moderate to strong rain in the Amazon, with isolated events in the northern Coast.
Regional Outlook
On the Coast, most cantons were expected to see clear conditions and little cloudiness. Light drizzle was possible in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas and Esmeraldas.
In the Sierra, the outlook was mixed between cloud cover and rain. Cuenca was forecast to see scattered rain in the afternoon and evening, while Quito faced intense ultraviolet radiation.
Temperature ranges were reported at 23.5 C to 31.5 C on the Coast and 18.5 C to 24.5 C in the Sierra.
What This Means for Expats
If you are driving into the Amazon or through mountain corridors, assume wet-road conditions can change quickly. In Cuenca, keep the umbrella handy for the afternoon and evening. In Quito, sun protection still matters even when the day looks cloudy.
