A flight emergency ended safely in Manta on Sunday afternoon.
On July 12, an Air Canada aircraft made an emergency landing at Eloy Alfaro International Airport in Manta, Manabi.
The Manta Fire Department reported that the aircraft landed without problems and that no injuries were recorded.
What Happened
The flight was covering the Miami-Lima route and had to descend after reporting a failure in one engine.
The airline notified Ecuadorian authorities and requested authorization to use the Manta airport runway.
Firefighters deployed a preventive operation with two fire trucks and two ambulances while the aircraft approached for landing.
For travelers, the immediate takeaway is reassuring: the diversion was handled as an emergency, but the landing was completed safely.
